A First Generation Makeover? Leave It Out, Game Freak. [RUMOUR]

With Pokemon X & Y on their way to stores near you, new images are being leaked of various new 'mons and old favourites with new evolutions. While I scour and hunt down new Pokemon with an unnatural thirst, I'm not so keen on new forms of old pocket monsters. We've been privy to two new entries into the already-bulging Pokedex. First up is a new evolution for Jynx, a Pokemon responsible for much controversy due to the colour of its skin. This was changed later in the series' lifespan, the black skin now a dark purple. This is what Game Freak consider the next logical step:

 Jynx
Oh Sweet Merciful Oak.

Oh, you're still here? You brave, brave soldier. You deserve a medal, you really do. Maybe you'll get one, after you endure the next picture. With the upcoming movie Extremespeed Genesect: Mewtwo Awakens, we received an image of a new Pokemon. Well, I say new...He was #150, a clone of the Mirage Pokemon. Still don't know? Call yourself a fan! I'm on about Mewtwo, but not as you've seen him before...

Photo: Looks like the next Pokémon movie - ExtremeSpeed Genesect: Mewtwo Awakens - will feature a new Mewtwo Form! Could we see other new Forms of old legendary Pokémon in Pokémon X & Y?

Mewtwo had been listening to Fall Out Boy a lot recently.

Yeah, that is he. The monster Pokemon that every kid had to have on his team. The being responsible for the destruction of the Cinnibar Mansion, who held a tournament just to steal and clone other Pokemon and brag about how perfect he was. And look what he has been reduced to. A spiky-haired emo with a headband and long, flowing hair.

They need to stop fiddling with the classic formula. Sure, you'll get new fans who love all this, so they can go back and explore the originals. 'Oh look,' they'll say, 'that thing looks a lot like Mewthree!'. And that hurts. They're learning in the wrong order. Not to mention the old fans that will feel betrayed and alienated. But at least they'll stop here. They wouldn't do this to any other of the original 151...right?

Keep them peeled, folks.

[EDIT 07/04/2012: Mewtwo-like Pokemon confirmed as official. However, it is not confirmed whether it is a new Pokemon, or simply a new form.]
